Octopii

Octopii

A no-code app builder for service businesses

A clinic, a barber or a driving school all want their own app and no way to hire a developer. Octopii turns that into a four-step form: pay, and the platform hands back an admin dashboard and the app's APK. A live phone preview updates as you go, because the people using this are nervous about software.

Case study

The problem

A real app, without a developer

A clinic, a barber, a coach, or a driving school all want the same thing: their own app and a way to run it. Almost none of them can hire a developer or learn to build one. Octopii set out to close that gap with a single platform that fits many kinds of business, so someone with no technical background can have a finished, branded app of their own.

The solution

Four steps, then it is yours

The whole thing is built to feel like filling in a short form, not commissioning software:

  • Enter your details
  • Verify with a one-time code
  • Choose your icon, colours, and app name
  • Name your business and pick your sector

Pay, and the platform instantly hands over two things: a link to the admin dashboard, and the app's APK file. From idea to a working app in one sitting.

Design as reassurance

Show them it is real, as they build

The people using this are nervous about technology, so the flow had to remove doubt at every step. A live phone preview sits beside each screen and updates as they choose: pick a colour and a name, and the app on the right rebrands to match in real time. By the time they reach payment they have already watched their own app take shape, so paying feels like claiming something that exists, not gambling on something that might.

Two owners, one product

An admin inside an admin

The hardest part was not the four steps. It was that Octopii serves two levels of control at once, and both had to be designed:

  • The business owner runs their own app from a client admin: adding the services they offer, their prices, and their names.
  • Octopii runs the whole platform from a company admin, managing every client's product above them.

Designing one system that keeps those two roles clear, without either one seeing controls that are not theirs, is the real product behind the friendly four-step face.

The surfaces

What I designed

Across the project I designed the full surface: the marketing website that explains the promise, the app-builder flow that delivers it, the app that gets handed to the business, and both admin panels behind it. One product, four faces, held to a single visual language.
